the journey

Feather + skull is the name that is free spirited dreamer, maker, and fashion stylist Noel Bores Walker. The brand was officially created & founded in 2012 when Noel decided to "be her own boss" but the dream began as a child playing dress up, making jewelry out of clay, spending as much time as possible outdoors, taking in life, and essentially dancing to the beat of her own drum. As time went on Noel's childhood interests grew and eventually, with the encouragement of her family and friends she took her love for art, fashion, and nature and journeyed through the Pacific Northwest from Idaho to Seattle, Washington to pursue a degree in Fashion Design. Living in a place filled with the beauty of the mountains, trees, surrounded by water, and a city full of music, Noel was inspired to create something beautiful based on her own passions and interests.

On any given day you can find Noel on a run with her dogs, doing yoga, listening to a new playlist in the studio while working on her latest project, cleaning out her closet...again,  styling outfits, cooking up something from a new vegan cooking blog, and at the end of the day enjoying a glass of vino & binge watching Friends. On weekends you will find her, Jeff, and their two dogs, Russell Wilson, and Penny Lane adventuring around the island. So with that....

Feather + Skull is a girl, a blog, a style, a collection of jewelry, clothing, vintage pieces, it’s a lifestyle. It is the dreamer in each of us.

Inspired by the sun, nature, living on an island, the slow life. The sun is the center of our day - sunrise + sunset. A sunrise or sunset is constantly changing, never looking the same. It’s different, unique, one of a kind. And so are we. That’s what makes us and life beautiful.

It’s ok to be different; unique. Embrace it, all of the different parts of yourself. It’s what makes each individual who we are. It’s bohemian, edgy, athletic, beautiful, honest. We are eclectic.

behind the brand - meet noel!

Ok so here it is, me in real life! I’m just a total nerd who loves fiercely, chases the sun, would gladly live in a house filled with animals, loves music, and NEEDS to be by the water. I also love creating, it gives me life. I really don’t love being in front of the camera but have tried hard to embrace it ever since I sort of fell into blogging, or influencing if you will, while hustling my own creations when I started this journey. My goal is to “keep it real” so my photos will always be a nod to whatever is going on in my life and basically what you see is what you get. I love fashion and styling and feel blessed to be able to connect with brands and share about those things. I am also very passionate about healthy living, mentally and physically and am all about eating right and exercising the mind and body. I love to travel, but hate to fly…which is strange since my head is almost always in the clouds. I struggle with technology, it’s true, but mostly because I’d rather be creating or outside with my dogs. The best piece of advice I've ever received is be yourself, which sounds so cliché that I think we often miss the true meaning behind the words. But throughout the course of my life, with all of the ups and downs and phases I have gone through, I have found myself embracing those words more and more. If you can be who you are, love yourself, don’t copy and compare, I think that is when true happiness can be achieved. So with that, I want to say welcome to my journey.
